Grades K-4 Technology Integrated Engaging Examples

KINDERGARTEN:

FIRST GRADE:

Movie Maker: Math Story Problem Movie by Linde Thompson and student example by Zoe Durham
First grade students create story problems by using classroom items to add and subtract between students in groups of three. Students write the story problems and then act them out with the classroom items among their groups. The teacher takes pictures of each stage of the story problem for each group. The teacher saves the pictures to the student public drive so the students can access the pictures to place in their Movie Maker Projects.

SECOND GRADE:

Math Money Lesson by Marilyn Hastings and student example by Alexander Wazel
Using Internet Explorer, Excel spreadsheet, and PowerPoint presentation software, students demonstrate how children can create a ten dollar budget and manage it. Students must find items to buy on the internet where the total of the items is less than ten dollars. They present their findings with a PowerPoint presentation.
