Meet Ms. McCaskill…
Hello! My name is Michelle McCaskill and I absolutely LOVE teaching First Graders. My teaching career began at the young age of six when I would line up my stuffed animals and try to teach them how to add two plus two! People that know me say that I was “born to be a teacher”. I couldn’t agree more. I feel extremely blessed to be doing something that I genuinely love each and every day.
I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Texas A&M University. After I graduated, I moved to Houston and began my professional teaching career in Sugar Land, TX. I taught First Grade in Fort Bend ISD for 4 years before moving back home to DFW. I was honored to join the Bradfield Family in 2010 and I have loved every minute of it.
I love teaching all subjects in First Grade but I find there is something truly magical about seeing a child learn to read for the first time. I am currently earning my Masters of Education in Reading and Writing at SMU and working towards my license in Learning Therapy and Reading Specialist certification.
When I am not inside my classroom, I love being outdoors. I enjoy being on the lake, relaxing on the beach or going to the mountains. In my free time I like to wake-board, snow ski, play golf, and travel.
I am really looking forward to a wonderful year with you and your children! Please feel free to contact me anytime!
