My name is Gretchen von Ende. I teach Resource K-4. This is my 13th year at Bradfield. Before coming to HPISD, I taught Resource for 4 years in Lewisville ISD. I have been teaching for 17 years and I still love it as much now as when I started. I grew up in McAllen, TX in the Rio Grande Valley at the southern tip of Texas. I went to college at McMurry University in Abilene, TX. It was a family tradition to go to McMurry and I was very happy to carry on that tradition. I moved to the Dallas area after graduation and started teaching. I received my Master's degree in Special Education from Texas A&M Commerce in 2005. In addition, I gained certification as an educational diagnostician.
Outside of school, I am active at my church, I enjoy keeping in touch with my friends and family, I like to read and watch TV, I have a wonderful boyfriend, and I like to take classes at the gym in addition to walking with colleagues after school.
Although I don't have children of my own, I love spending time with my nephews, my boyfriend's niece and nephew, and my best friends' children.
On December 23, 2012, my boyfriend and I became proud parents of a lab mix puppy named Tipper. She is now my new "hobby".
